AN EXCEPTIONAL ACOUSTICS
A PLACE UNLIKE ANY OTHER

The Lanaudière Amphitheatre is a place unlike any other. The main approach to it is along a magnificent, tree-lined avenue. This leads to an illuminated arch that overlooks the vast lawn spreading out in front of the Amphitheatre itself. From the crest of the hill one gazes at the sweeping view beyond and below.

Here and there concertgoers can be seen congregating in small groups. Some are enjoying a full picnic, comfortably sitting or reclining on the lawn. Others are lounging under large umbrellas, having a snack or a cold drink. Each spends the pre-concert time in his or her own way.

Built in 1989 in the heart of a hemlock grove, the Lanaudière Amphitheatre can accommodate up to 10,000 people, seating 2,000 under the covered section and offering space for 8,000 more on the lawn. The perfect design of the facilities and the natural morphology of the site result in exceptional acoustical properties.

The Festival de Lanaudière is an environment-friendly institution. We ask guests to respect the natural beauty of the site by using the pathways and recycling bins.
