Among all the archival records that witness the Festival’s history, this one undoubtedly figures among the most remarkable: A concert by the magnificent soprano Renata Scotto at the Cathedral in Joliette on August 21, 1986. Works by Verdi and Puccini spearhead this scintillating evening of lyric art.

Giuseppe Verdi

“Nel di della vittoria” from Macbeth
“Tu che le vanita” from Don Carlo

Giacomo Puccini

“Sola, perduta, abbandonata” from Manon Lescaut
