The Intimate Theatre of Handel

July 13, 2026 20:00

Saint-Jean-de-Matha Church

In this intimate, conversational concert – their only North American appearance together this summer – William Christie and Emmanuel Resche-Caserta invite audiences to discover (or rediscover) some of Handel’s most beautiful works. The two musicians engage in a compelling play of symmetries, evoking both opera and the splendour of the court, while revealing another aspect of “otherness”: dialogue, transmission, and the sharing of knowledge across generations.

Due to a serious injury to his left hand, Justin Taylor has been forced to cancel his participation in the July 13 concert. We wish him a full and swift recovery, and are grateful to William Christie and Emmanuel Resche-Caserta for offering us a new programme on just a few days’ notice.

NO REFUNDS, EXCHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS are possible once the ticket sale is complete. Pricing, artists, programming, dates and times of concerts are subject to change without notice. Some restrictions apply.
