Accounting and Administrative Technician

Who we are

Located in Joliette, the Festival de Lanaudière is the largest classical music festival in Canada. For over 45 years, it has actively contributed to the cultural vitality of the Lanaudière region and promoted classical music to audiences both here and abroad.

Your role

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will play a key role in the organization's accounting and administrative management. Through your expertise, rigour, and organizational skills, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the Festival's financial activities, both year-round and especially during the summer season, when the volume of activity intensifies.

Your main responsibilities

· Maintain books and track accounting transactions;

· Manage accounts payable and receivable;

· Prepare payroll, government remittances, and tax forms, including T4s and Relevé 1s;

· Perform bank reconciliations;

· Monitor specific files such as group insurance;

· Collaborate on the preparation of the annual audit file;

· Track, control, and reconcile concession inventory;

· Participate in various administrative tasks related to the organization's financial operations;

· Perform any other related tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the Festival.

You are a reliable, organized, and independent person who enjoys understanding and finding solutions. You know how to manage multiple priorities at once and remain effective when the pace picks up:

More specifically, you have:

‍
· A college diploma (DEC) in accounting or equivalent training;

· At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and bookkeeping;

· Good knowledge of Acomba, Excel, and the Microsoft 365 suite;

· Excellent command of French, both spoken and written;

· Functional knowledge of English;

· A high regard for confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy;

· Strong organizational and prioritization skills;

· Independence, resourcefulness, and a collaborative attitude.

A summer in the rhythm of the Festival!

The summer season is particularly busy at the Festival: transaction volumes increase significantly and the unexpected is part of daily life. We are therefore looking for someone who is responsive, organized, and able to stay on track in an environment where priorities can shift quickly.‍

In return, you will have the chance to go behind the scenes of a unique cultural event and contribute directly to the realization of concerts that bring the Lanaudière region to life.
